It started as a tiny spot inside my lip. Nothing painful, nothing worrying. I assumed it was just a small irritation from accidentally biting myself while eating. I ignored it for a couple of days.
Then one morning, I pressed on it lightly out of curiosity and felt a sharp sting followed by strange pressure under the skin. When I looked closer, the area was swollen and firm, like something was building underneath.
The Moment It Finally Burst
@drrajarora Stop ignoring your mouth ulcers – they could be a sign of something more serious! #HealthMatters #MouthUlcers #StopIgnoringUlcers #OralHealth #HealthAwareness #GPAdvice #SeriousSymptoms #MouthCare #DoctorTalk #HealthTips #UlcerWarning #SkinDoctor #OralCare #ConsultYourDoctor #MouthHealth #DrRaj ♬ original sound – Dr Raj Arora
I gently pushed around the swollen spot and what came out shocked me. A thick white string of fluid released instantly, much more than I expected. It felt like the pressure had been building for days. The relief was instant, but so was the panic. How did something so small turn into this?
If I had known what it really was, I would never have touched it.
What I Learned
-
Never pop anything inside your mouth, even if it looks harmless
-
Mouth infections can spread fast
-
Swelling that lasts more than two days should be checked
I was lucky this did not turn into something worse. If you ever notice unusual swelling or discharge inside your mouth, get it looked at.
As you were.
