Devyn Aiken, a 30-year-old from Philadelphia, has gone viral for sharing her plastic surgery experience on TikTok, where she has grown a following of more than 61,000 people. Her videos documenting her rhinoplasty journey have resonated widely, but she makes it clear that the surgery was not about changing her identity.
“I always thought I was pretty. I just hated my nose,” Aiken said to PEOPLE.

Throughout middle school, she dealt with bullying and hurtful nicknames such as “bird” and “Toucan Sam.” At 14, she asked her mother for a nose job, but it was not until last November that she finally afforded the procedure. She paid 11,000 dollars for the surgery, performed by Dr. Mark Ginsburg, a triple board-certified plastic surgeon and ear, nose, and throat specialist.
Aiken’s goal was subtlety. “I did not want a Barbie nose. I wanted something that suited my face,” she said.

She posted unfiltered recovery updates on TikTok, showing swelling, bruising, and progress along the way. Her honesty earned praise from viewers who appreciated seeing the realistic side of cosmetic surgery. “I wanted everyone to see it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly,” she explained.
Now that healing is complete, Aiken says the change has been life altering. “Every time I look in the mirror, I am happy. It was the best decision of my life.”
