These 8 Products that you Use Every Day are Highly Carcinogenic

Causes of Cancer: List of Products or Carcinogens Foods

  1. X-rays

X-rays are moderate doses of radiation to which the body is exposed to image internal structures and organs of the body. This process is also called radiography, and there are several types: chest X-ray (lungs, heart, chest), bone radiography and mammography. This procedure is necessary to obtain the results of a physical examination, laboratory test or diagnose cancer. However, these rays are harmful to the body, according to Professor Hubert Ducou Le Pointe, radiology department manager at the Armand-Trousseau Hospital in Paris: “X-rays can cause ionization, which interacts with the cells. These cells if they don’t die they may not repair properly. When these cells multiply, they repeat the same mistake. “

Therefore, the DNA of the organism is modified and can cause “radiation induced” cancers.
However, this kind of disorder can occur after excessive exposure to these rays. Doses must also be regulated.

Furthermore, the breast cancer screening, mammography, also causes controversy. According to the British Journal of Medicine and Medical Research, exposure to x-rays increase the risk of breast cancer. However, scientists don’t agree on every subject, because women can carry genes that promote the appearance of cancer, and for women, it is advisable to replace mammography with MRI. In France, mammography is recommended for women 50 to 74 years, once every 2 years.

  1. Red Meat

Several studies have shown that excessive consumption of red meat could seriously affect the body. Red meat is an important source of minerals such as iron and protein, but consumed in excess iron accumulates in the body, damaging the lining of the intestine, thus exposing the organism to viruses, bacteria and pathogens. This food can also promote the risk of cancer. Indeed, when meat is cooked at high temperatures such as in a pan or on a barbecue for a long time, this can lead to formation of potentially carcinogenic residues: benzopyrenes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The latter are substances which stick to the DNA and alter the functioning of the body’s cells.
The World Health Organization also ranked red meat as probably carcinogenic. It is therefore advisable to moderate consumption of red meat.

  1. Cosmetic Products

Cosmetic products are well known for their content of chemical compounds that can be very dangerous for the body. Since 1998, cosmetic manufacturers are required to specify the composition of the products they market. Here are some components that must be avoided:

Phthalates: These are chemical compounds used in cosmetic products such as nail polish or perfume. Several scientific studies have proven that these substances could cause cancer. Read labels and avoid products that contain them.

Parabens: they are also used in products such as creams, lotions and deodorants. Several studies have noted that this substance would promote the development of breast cancer.

  1. Aluminum in Deodorants and Antiperspirants

Breast cancer may in part be related to the excessive amounts of aluminum present in deodorants and antiperspirants. This compound is found in the body and promotes such diseases. The role of deodorant is to kill the bacteria found in the skin, while the antiperspirant blocks the sweat glands which are responsible for the secretion of sweat.

University of California researchers have shown that prolonged exposure to aluminum salts could cause neurotoxicity. Moreover, a recent study sought to establish a link between deodorants and breast cancer. The researchers studied 20 patients with breast cancer tumors, they discovered that they had a high content of paraben, a substance widely used in deodorants and other cosmetics. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid using deodorants or antiperspirants.

  1. GMO

A study at the University of Caen, published in the scientific journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, showed that the consumption of GMOs in rats increased the risk of cancer. For 12 months, the scientists studied two groups of rats, one half consumed genetically modified corn, while the other consumed a non-transgenic corn. The researchers observed that rats in the first group were suffering from congestion of the liver and mammary tumors. This topic is still the subject of debate among scientists, but it is advisable to prefer organic food to stay healthy.

  1. Artificial Sweeteners

WHO regularly publishes detailed reports to assess the toxicity of artificial sweeteners. Aspartame, one of the most used in the food industry sweeteners, is among them. Several studies have shown that it cause cancer, including brain cancer. However, all scientists do not agree on the subject.

Saccharin is also another controversial sweetener. This substance could have caused bladder cancer in rats that had consumed in large quantities. It is advisable to avoid artificial sweeteners and prefer the natural sugar.

  1. Canned Products

Products packed in can, such as tomatoes, for example, can cause serious health hazards. Indeed, the coating used in these boxes contains toxic chemicals like bisphenol-A. This is an endocrine disruptor present in plastics or objects in dental amalgam. In addition, according to the National Health Security Agency for Food, Environment and Labour (ANSES), “some pregnant women’s exposure to bisphenol-A situations present a risk to the mammary gland of the fetus”.

  1. Certain Drugs

Statins are among the drugs used to lower cholesterol in people who suffer from cardiovascular disease. Several meta-analyzes have confirmed the carcinogenic effect of these drugs. According to the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, statins increase the risk of cancer. To avoid this kind of disorder, it is advisable to have a healthy, balanced diet and regular physical activity.
