I never imagined a quick beauty fix could go so wrong. I saw a viral at home treatment online and thought it looked harmless. Everyone made it seem easy, cheap and effective, so I decided to try it myself.
Within seconds of applying it above my lip, the warm tingling turned into a sharp burning sensation. I tried to stay calm, thinking it was normal. But then my skin started swelling fast.
The Moment I Looked in the Mirror
When I finally checked the mirror, I felt sick. My upper lip was swollen, my eyes looked heavy, and the skin above my lip had already darkened and tightened into a painful crust. By the next morning, the swelling had spread and every small movement hurt.
A doctor later confirmed it was a chemical burn from using a product that should never touch such a sensitive area. I had trusted a random online hack without checking anything.
What I Learned
Please do not make the same mistake I did.
-
Always do a patch test
-
Avoid strong products on sensitive skin
-
Do not trust internet beauty shortcuts
I’m still healing, and I hope my experience stops someone else from ending up like this.
As you were.
