Signs of strain first became public during a July 1 interview on Hayley & Max in the Morning on Adelaide’s Mix102.3. Urban, promoting his upcoming tour, was asked about Kidman’s love scenes with younger co-stars, including Zac Efron in Netflix’s A Family Affair.
Visibly uncomfortable, Urban abruptly disconnected from the Zoom call. While a producer later explained the cut-off was likely to avoid further probing, the moment raised eyebrows. A source told People:
“Keith did not hang up, period. He doesn’t host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.”
Still, the incident highlighted a growing tension as Kidman continued taking on provocative roles, including the 2024 thriller Babygirl, where she played a high-powered executive entangled with a younger intern.
Growing Distance
